Bamboo, due to its fast growth and its ability to quickly sequester carbon and form renewable resources, compared to trees, is an important sustainable solution for mitigating climate change in forestry. The Department of Bamboo Forest showcases the combination of Yilan's ancient three-sided courtyard windproof bamboo fences with local plantings, bringing bamboo craftsmanship back into everyday life. Developed from the Taiwan endemic species Schizothorax, the tracking game offers students, teachers, and visitors an interactive experience to enhance their understanding of the national ecological green network and conservation of biodiversity. The understory economic zone presents the lifestyle advocated by the "Satoyama Initiative," where people and nature coexist harmoniously in the shallow mountain environment. Coupled with wooden and bamboo games that promote physical coordination and forest adventure, the exhibit hopes to present a sustainable and harmonious forest environment to everyone.
