In response to the International Day of Cooperatives, abbreviated as Coops Day, which promotes "Cooperatives for Sustainable Development (SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals)," the 2024 Earth Academy is planning a new cooperative that combines sustainable development, agricultural education, and a diverse range of abundant products. It offers farmers the opportunity to sell organic-friendly agricultural products, promoting economic self-sufficiency (SDG 1 No Poverty and SDG 2 Zero Hunger). The cooperative aims to educate students on selecting products with the "Carbon Footprint Label," CAS Taiwan Excellent Agricultural Products, Traceable Agricultural Products (TAP), organic agricultural products, and QR codes for Taiwan agricultural product production traceability, which certify excellent quality agricultural products with the three-label and one-Q certification (SDG 4 Quality Education). Through these certifications, consumers not only protect themselves by consuming healthy and non-toxic food (SDG 3 Good Health and Well-being) but also contribute to preserving biodiversity (SDG 14 and 15 Life on Land and Life Below Water). Additionally, they help mitigate the global warming crisis by implementing carbon reduction, energy saving, and water conservation measures (SDG 13 Climate Action), turning consumption into a force that protects the Earth and its ecosystems. The cooperative also invites like-minded sustainable partner, New Taipei City, to participate in exhibitions and sales, working together to achieve the vision of sustainable agricultural and fishery development and boost the income of farmers and fishermen.
